Wolf Line Construction was proud to recognize our 135 linemen for their service to their trade during Line Appreciation Day on April 18th. Line work is one of the top ten most dangerous jobs in the US and lineman often work round the clock in all weathers to ensure that our nation’s power and telecommunications systems remain functional. This year felt especially significant as the majority of our team has spent the last several weeks restoring internet to the people of Northern Michigan affected by a serious late-March ice storm.
Lineman Appreciation Day was first established in 2012 in the wake of Hurricane Sandy which caused unprecedented devastation along the eastern seaboard. Over 67,000 line workers from all across the US responded to the 24 states affected by the storm. The 113th Congress passed a bill designating April 18th as Lineman Appreciation day and the bill became law in 2013.
