The Michigan Works! Association has named Wolf Line Construction the 2026 Employer of the Year, recognizing the company’s commitment to workforce development, career opportunities, and building pathways into the fiber optic construction industry.
As a growing utility infrastructure installer for transmission, distribution, and fiber optic facilities, Wolf Line is committed to developing skilled employees. Our workforce initiatives include apprenticeship programs, veteran inclusion efforts, recovery-friendly practices, and the use of workforce funding to support employee development. Through hands-on training and apprenticeships, employees gain the skills and experience needed to build long-term careers in the industry. We also work to create an inclusive workplace where individuals from different backgrounds and career paths can succeed.
Safety is a key part of how we develop our workforce. With continued safety education, employees are given the tools and knowledge they need to perform their work safely and confidently in the field. Building a strong workforce means not only developing technical skills, but also creating a culture where safety, quality, and teamwork are part of the everyday job.
The Employer of the Year award recognizes an employer that partners with a Michigan Works! agency to support job placement, workforce development, and education while helping build a skilled workforce. Wolf Line is the first employer from the Northwest Michigan Works! agency (which partnered with us throughout the workforce development process) to receive the honor, making this a significant milestone for both organizations.
